Audi AI:RACE Concept Car

If the Audi AI:Race is how Audi are envisioning the all-electric, high-performance sports car of the future, then sign us up. It was unveiled at the 2018 Pebble Beach Automotive Week in California to join the A-Team of the Audi AI:CON, Audi AI:ME and Audi AI:TRAIL, Audi’s growing electric concept car line-up. Looking like the love child of a wind tunnel and a racetrack, the AI:Race is an advanced and electric take on the Audi R18 race car, and we want to drive it. Badly. But, we can’t because it’s not in production yet. Luckily for you/us, there are other electric sports cars that are available to lease in the UK: take a gander at the Porsche Taycan, Lucid Air and Lotus Evija. then if you wanna chat just drop us a note or call us on 020 8012 8190.

On the prowl
While Audi’s other concept cars like the AI:ME and Aicon are all about autonomous driving and futuristic tech, the AI:Race is about one thing: speed. Its broad body and Spartan interior are perfectly formed for performance and handling at extreme speed. There are no weighty comfort features, just a driver’s seat and a cockpit, integrated into an inner monocoque shell that can move laterally to suit driving solo in a central race position. Or sliding to fit in a lucky passenger.

Stupidly quick
The AI:Race performance is matched with its efficiency; capable of taking an 800-volt charge, the 95 kWh battery will reach 100% of its 310 range in just 15 minutes. That’s ridiculous. It can also be charged wirelessly via induction with Audi Wireless Charging. Drive the AI:Race onto the charging pad and an alternating magnetic field will charge the car like magic without the need for any cables.

Ludicrous styling

The AI:RACE has the classical dimensions of a sports car, and a gorgeous sloping roof line that draws the eye along its truly distinctive silhouette. Don't worry about cargo space either with 470 litres to boast about. Not sure you'd need to bring that much along with you to zoom around the track but regardless, it's got mad room. And rad zoom.
