Good news, then, ’cos the Terzo Millennio has more self-healing properties than a herbal-remedy shop. Damage part of the body even without knowing and it’ll trigger a repair process so chemicals lying dormant in micro channels get busy, healing the bodywork like it’s a nick in your skin.

Lambo isn’t mucking about in lunch breaks with this one – it’s collaborating with real professors at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. So while most EV engineers wonder when solid-state batteries will arrive, Lamborghini and MIT are already experimenting with supercapacitors. The win is huge power and long life, the problem is matching the energy density of a regular battery. One idea: the carbonfibre bodyshell not only looks Batman cool/evil, but could potentially store energy too. Mind blowing.
