The unity of horse and rider – known as jinbai ittai in Japanese – is the design philosophy behind every Mazda; a unity also shared in its powerful history with hometown Hiroshima. And with their first foray into electric vehicles being the gorgeous MX-30, jinbai ittai has never been more clear.
‘Sustainable Zoom-Zoom 2030’ is their electrification project name (and we love it), with plans to ultimately reduce 50% of its 2010 CO2 emissions by 2030, and 90% by 2050.
The MX-30 is a funky little all-electric crossover that just so happens to be Mazda’s first electric car. Not a bad way to start. It’s lightweight, packed full of next-gen tech like its head-up display and smart brake support, and has pretty sweet looks to boot.
