Rolls-Royce might be a newbie to electrification, but it’s a struggle to think of any car maker better suited to the silent whoosh of zero-emissions motoring. Synonymous with being the best of the best, the British brand built its reputation on a bedrock of whisperish refinement, effortless performance and acres of lavishly crafted space for lounging about – all stuff that’s second nature to EVs.

To be fair, it’s been thinking about electrification for a while, since co-founder Charles Rolls bought an electric carriage in 1900, four years before the first Rolls-Royce. Over a century later, Rolls’ electric transformation starts with the Spectre super coupe and by 2030, every model will be fully electric. Get ready for a whole new era of posh.
